Tested Toyo R1R 245/35R17 thinking they would be more stable, less squirmy than 255/40R17. This all came about when the Hankook RS3s were on back order leading into the 2011 Nationals. At a minimum they could have been used as a cold/rain tire, but after four runs it was clear that they were just too squirmy/wallowy to handle the weight of the S2000.
Other benefits were more clearance due the small overall diameter, better acceleration for same reason, and lowering the car.
Unfortunate and expensive ($800) lesson. They looked good. :) Sold them!
